Capcom released a mobile version of Mega Man 1-6 a couple months ago. There were some mixed reviews due to the game’s unstable performance. But overall, the gaming community was excited to be able to play this classic again on their phones. Capcom has decided to continue with the trend of porting games to mobile. Capcom-Unity, the official Capcom Twitter account, retweeted that four more Capcom classics will be ported over to Android and iOS.
These games that are being brought over to mobile will really send you back in time. The Capcom classics they will release include the popular aerial shooter 1942. Ghosts N’ Goblins and its sequel Ghouls N’ Ghosts. And the last title is Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando. For those that are unfamiliar with these titles, here’s a basic rundown of them.
1942 (Released in 1984)
Set in the era of World War II, your goal is to reach Tokyo and destroy the entire Japanese air fleet. You take on the role of Super Ace, piloting a plane similar to the Lockheed P-38 Lightning. While cruising the skies, you will shoot down enemy planes and avoid fire with an evasive “loop-the-loop.”
Ghosts N’ Goblins (Released in 1985)
Ghosts N’ Goblins is the first game of its own series. This classic platformer will have you running and taking down all sorts of evil spirits. As Arthur the valiant knight, your goal is to bring Princess Guinevere back to safety. Show off your bravery by battling through the graveyard, demon-infested Camelot, the Great Abyss and more.
Ghouls N’ Ghosts (Released in 1988)
Ghouls N’ Ghosts is the second installment of the Ghosts N’ Goblins series. A new vicious foe by the name of Lucifer appears and steals everyone’s soul including that of Arthur’s precious princess. Similar to Ghosts N’ Goblins, you will battle your way through demons and undead but now with the capability of jumping and firing weapons!
Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando (Released in 1985)
This is one of the lesser known Capcom titles of the four being released. Often referred to as Commando, this is another one of those classic top-down shooters. You will act as Super Joe, a soldier of fortune dropped off in the jungle alone to take on a massive army of troops. There will be blood!
There’s no exact date of when these classic games will pop up in the near future. But you can be the first to find out by pre-registering on the Capcom mini-website.
