Square Enix, the Japanese developer today revealed a mystery mobile game at Tokyo Game Show. Officially known as Battle of the blades, the game is set to release towards the end of this year. It will be available on Android and iOS, the battle arena game would be available only in Japan as far as we know because there is no mention of a Western release. The core game play features 4 vs 4 PVP action, along with 4-player PVE co-op dungeons and also single-player features. Each round is suppose to last 180 seconds, which is considerably fast for an arena-style game.
What can you expect?
In Battle of Blades you will team up with four players to battle against powerful enemies known as Darkness. Additionally, the game includes boss battles and loot as rewards for doing so Players can use the Mana board to unlock, power-ups and use equipment accessories to change and customize your hero.
The game features a single-player mode with a story written by Higashide Yuuichiron. Additionally, a ton of customization options have been shown off , including special weapons from other Square Enix games, such as Nier: Automata, Secret of Mana, and Romancing SaGa.
Battle of Blades also features numerous multiplayer functions. Such as a battle arena requires players to team up to battle each other in 4v4 battles, and large-scale boss fights that lead to special rewards. A short preview video shows off a team of players fighting monsters and other players.
