Capcom is continuing its nostalgic streak with The Disney Afternoon Collection. This 6-pack of Disney NES games will bring back all the good memories for the 80s and 90s kids. The games are in the classic 8-bit style but with a few new features in store. You will control some of your favorite childhood characters from cartoons like Duck Tales, Talespin and Chip n’ Dale Rescue Rangers.
The Disney Afternoon Collection Overview
The 6 games in the collection are Chip n’ Dale Rescue Rangers 1 and 2, Darkwing Duck, Ducktales 1 and 2, and Talespin. The games will now be in HD resolution. But unlike 2013’s DuckTales: Remastered, there won’t be any new sprites. The games will stay true to their original versions as far as graphics go.
Rewind, Boss Rush, Time Attack and More
A rewind feature has been added to the games which allows players to go back if they missed a jump or if they want to give the boss another shot. There will also be two new game modes to choose from: Boss Rush and Time Attack.
In Boss Rush, you put your skills to the test against some tough bosses and see if you can make it onto the leaderboards. There are no second chances on Boss Rush; sorry, no rewind for you!
Time Attack pits you against the clock. See how fast you can complete the level and show off your time on the online leaderboards. Just like Boss Rush, you cannot rewind but practice makes perfect.
For those who appreciate the arts, the games will include an in-game museum. Here, you can check out concept art, music and other interesting stuff on each game’s development.
Release and Price
The Disney Afternoon Collection comes to PC, PS4, and Xbox One on April 18, and it’s priced at $19.99. However, Capcom has been on a porting streak so no surprise if these games came to mobile sometime after. Capcom is attending Wondercon so if you are in the LA area, you can check out the collection before everyone else!
