Little Nightmares is a new game that is shaking things up in the horror genre. Developed by Tarsier Studios and published by Bandai Namco, it challenges the norm for horror games. This game has nothing to do with an apocalypse or zombies or the paranormal. And you will not require sharp knives, heavy arms or explosives. You are simply just a little girl trying to survive in a “giant” world.
In the game, you take on the role of Six, a little girl who dawns a bright yellow raincoat. She has no abilities or powers and the only item in her possession is a lighter for dark situations. In order to finish the game, you must venture through the frightening world of giants and solve puzzles for your survival. Unlike other games in this genre, your wit gives you the best chance at survival.
Little Nightmares Interactive Demo
The game itself plays in a sort of 2D platformer style. The environment is entirely 3D but you traverse through the world in a side-scrolling manner. To give you a glimpse of this nightmarish world known as The Maw, the developers have placed an interactive demo on their website. Give it a try and see how good of a decision maker you are. But, be careful, one wrong choice and you may end up dead!
The demo does a really good job of giving players a taste of the game’s style and graphics. Furthermore, it gives you an idea of how puzzles work within the game. It’s not so much find the pieces of the puzzle but more like making the right decisions in the right order. A full playthrough of the demo will last about five to ten minutes depending on how many times you die. And if you register on their site, you can receive a free DLC reward at launch.Little Nightmares will be available digitally for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on April 28th. Do you dare step foot in The Maw?
