Treyarch continues to keep things lively with a new patch for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. This update tackles some general performance issues and will also prepare the game for the upcoming Zombies DLC.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Patch
The patch notes don’t specifically address what general performance issues have been fixed. But it can be assumed that necessary changes have been made to support the new Zombies Chronicles DLC.
The Black Market is altered so that your unopened Supply Drop bundles will not disappear after the event has ended. In addition, the bundles that disappeared from your inventory before will be returned.
On the frontend, the load speed of attachment icons has been enhanced in Create-a-Class and Gunsmith menus. Furthermore, a bug that allowed players to equip camos before unlocking them is now fixed. There is only one weapon change in this update but it is a long-awaited one. You can now recover ballistic knives. They will now also register headshots with the Kill Counter or Clan Tag attachments equipped.
The new trailer for the upcoming Black Ops 3 DLC came out recently and focuses on the franchise’s beloved zombies mode. This news has created both positive and negative comments by the CoD community. The biggest gripe is the $30 cost of the Zombies Chronicles DLC. This is quite a big jump from the $15 map packs that players are used to. But true lovers of the zombies mode won’t be phased.
This expansion offers players 8 new maps. These maps are remastered versions of maps from World at War, Black Ops and Black Ops 2.
World at War maps:
- Nacht der Untoten
- Shi No Numa
Black Ops maps:
- Kino der Toten
Black Ops 2
Besides the maps, players will get bonus content in the form of 20 vials of Liquid Divinium, 2 all-new Whimsical GobbleGums and an exclusive Zombies Pack-A-Punch Weapon Camo. Also, players who pre-order will receive a Zombies Chronicles Dynamic System Theme for PS4.
The extras don’t stop there. Treyarch will also host an “8 Days of Undead” event where all players on all platforms will earn double XP. Players can also earn cool new exclusive content for engaging in community challenges during this time.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Zombies Chronicles is available first for PS4 on May 16th. Unfortunately, Xbox and PC fans will have to wait a little longer for the DLC to come to their platform.
